Nhan Le and Angus Brown have officially stepped into the mainstream with the opening of Lusca in Buckhead; no more waiting until 10:30 at night, and venturing to East Atlanta, to sample their creative and delicious offerings. For fan’s of their aforementioned Octopus bar, this provides a more approachable, albeit pricier, alternative.
Their menu features an assortment of creative takes on things like crab on levain bread w/ avocado and scallions and uni scrambled eggs. Asian influences abound and they have a top notch nigiri offering, not to mention a killer wine list with one of the best by the glass offerings this side of a wine bar.
Almost everything is able to be shared and they will even cut their above average burger into portions should you so desire. Some of the small plates were also worth checking out including the lobster roll and the smoked trout with rose chips.
Two of my favorites however were the chorizo with peppers, which I think has now been subbed w/ Italian sausage, and the roasted beets served tartare style with a poached egg and goat cheese.
Last but not least, like all new trendy restaurants, they have a selection of oysters…does anyone know the margin on these?
