Seven lamps burst onto the scene a few short months ago on the back of Chef Drew Van Leuvan’s creative cooking style, casual community feel and some awesome cocktails! Seven lamps is set back in the corner of the Shops Around Lenox strip, just south of the mall across the street from Dante’s. I made my first visit a week ago for lunch and was amazed by not just the quality of every dish I tried, but at the affordability of such decadence…where else can you find a steamed lobster bun the size of small dog for less than $10!
Most steamed buns you can eat with your hands, but unless you play for the Hawks it ain’t happening! Up next was one of their more healthy options: the smoked beet salad w/ pickled watermelon radish, fresh chèvre and nuts.
Last up I sunk my teeth into a super tender hanger steak sandwich w/ caramelized onions and blue cheese on a soft, buttery ciabatta roll…damn! I have had a lot of steak sandwiches, but this one was definitely up there; juices dripping and teeth gnashing!
The space itself is small, but communal and there looks to be an awesome patio once spring finally arrives; though I’ve only had one meal at Seven Lamps, the future seems bright and I’m looking forward to many more.
