I had the pleasure of visiting Food Truck Friday at the 14th Street storage facility today and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect; a crisp 78 degrees with blue skies and a slight breeze…this is why folks live in Atlanta! The 14th St location came on line earlier this year and offers easy access from the highway (it’s literally on the corner of 14th and the connector), a large green space, free parking, restrooms and room for several trucks.
We also sampled a few items from The Pickle Truck, whose staff is quite animated when it comes to drawing in customers, including their Cajun chicken egg rolls with tasso ham (my favorite) and a decent crawfish etouffee.
This location also offers several tables with chairs and they even brought out picnic blankets for the patrons. The trucks change every week, but for the most part you will see the ones above mixed in with others. For up to date information on this location and others; see the Atlanta Street Food Coalition’s calendar webpage: http://www.atlantastreetfood.com/calendar. I love the location and ease of access and hope this spot becomes permanent but I’m not really sure what the storage facility gets out of it, except for advertising if you have to go in and use the restroom; I imagine you’re handed a brochure and business card as you exit the loo… either way, this was a great day and I really enjoyed the location; go check it out!
